SKYWATCH FRIDAY - FESTIVAL TIME ~ LIGHTS, GLITTER AND STREET DECORATIONS

No, its not Dec end or January New Year time time; neither, Christmas. Its April, and, its New Year Time here! Yes, in mid April, in beginning of spring, we celebrate our Hindu New Year according to Lunar calender. The temperatures are begining to rise, the season changes and we have the new year. Its Gudi Padwa for Marathis, Bohag Bihu for Assamese, Baisakhi in North, Ugadi/ Puthandu in South India and plenty more names given - as we are a vast and diverse culture. Along with celebrations on the ground, decorations, lights and glitter get filled up to the skies. Here are some glimpses of them. Enjoy :-)

Hindu New Year - There are numerous days throughout the year celebrated as New Year's Day in the different regions of the Indian Republic. The observance is determined by whether the lunar, solar or lunisolar calendar is being followed ( wiki ). Linking to Skywatch & MyWorldThruMyCameraLens
