Photo Travelogue :
Flashback :
Everyone loves to go to Goa. Who doesn't? I remember, I had first gone to Goa way back in my high school days ( 9th std ). Unfortunately, those days I didn't have my phone-cam to capture the pics, hence, those memories remain wrapped somewhere in the corners of my mind. I remember faintly, catching an overnight bus in Bombay with my family. We slept through the journey and reached Goa early morning. We then took a taxi to reach Miramar beach, Panjim ( Panaji, as it was known then ), and our hotel was just across the street from the beach. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked and we got only 1 single room with 1 night booking. I remember enjoying the beach a lot, walking about...collecting shells, enjoying the breeze. We took north-goa and south goa tourist trips via tourist bus that covered the popular spots. We even enjoyed a cruise in the Mandovi river in the evening, wherein various artists danced and performed.
Later, we shifted to one of my father's office flats ( near Miramar itself ), where we stayed nearly a week. By then, Goa had almost become like home. Staying in flat, we shopped in nearby markets for veggies & fruits, travelled in the local buses; and I almost got quite familiar with my way around the city. I was overwhelmed at the number of wine shops Goa has, when my aunt hunted around for some good Feni ( local cashew based beverage ). By the time we had to return I was immensely sad, because, Goa felt like home by then. I longed to go back, but somehow things didn't happen; or lets say, I didn't make proper plans or effort. Anyhow, after decades an opportunity to go to Goa did present itself :-) And boy, was I glad! Overjoyed, infact.
Present :
My Goa trip, this time, was a blogger meet sponsored by TataZest and Blogadda. It was a real quickie overnight one though, but loaded with lots of fun. I have written at length about the event in my other blog. However, I don't have much pictures from it either ( oops! )- of the scenery et all. I'll be posting some of mine and a few borrowed ones.
It was the month of July,14 - monsoon was at its fullest - hence, greenery all around. We went by flight and came back my flight...pics of which I did click lots...so here are the pics ~
Once reaching, we were whisked off by bus to Varca beach, Zuri White Sands Resorts! - a 45 minutes or so trip. Some sights in between, in the pics below ;-)
We stayed one night in Goa. It was a packed schedule. On reaching we relaxed a bit before our various activities were to begin, towards the evening. While many went to enjoy in the beach, just behind the resort; I decided to laze about in my room. And here's my room ...its view opened to a pool and it was really soothing. Its a beautiful property, and the food was YUM!
a lil bit of relaxation...
and then, work...the test-drive!
a small video of the same :-)
After enjoying, we were all set to head back. Please note, this trip didn't really have sight-seeing as such. All sights were limited to the ones we saw during our test-drive. But the trip was fun, because, of the blogger get-together. Check out the flight back home pics in my next post - Here!
