Photo Travelogue :
Do a google search with these keywords - 'most haunted places in India' or Bombay, the Vrindavan Society Thane always come up. The various haunted places lists almost always has this particular place included in them. So, as a spook lover I was naturally curious about it. I have visted a host of them haunted locations already, so, it was but natural to look it up since it was supposedly in Bombay/Mumbai itself - thane to be precise. The place is not far from the thane station so at Rs.5, I hopped the bus that went exactly there - its the last stop for the bus. Once landing at the bus stop, I asked a shop keeper, where the building was. He pointed to go straight, so, I went. He said, there are few banks, so, go past them straight - and, I did. In no time, I stood underneath the very building. Its quite easy to enter the society, as the narrow path from bus stop lead straight to it. There was no search or questioning - so, it was quite open in that way to access. Anyone can come and go. Once, I reached my 'destination' I was little dissappointed. For one, I felt no spook; and secondly, the said building was under renovation. I'm sure with all the noisy construction work going on, the ghost certainly wouldn't make any appearance anyway. Nonetheless, I strolled about and stood under the building for couple of minutes. People looked bit weirdly when they saw me clicking pictures. I ignored them. I tried to feel up the place. Well, no ghosts. I didn't feel anything. I looked up several times the open window on top - nothing. Phew, after spending some more time I decided to leave.

the bus stop and the sole bus that goes the 3.3 km distance from thane station to the society...

there's a small children's park...

tall palm trees...the entire society has lots of trees...
I know its too soon to come to conclusion whether a place is haunted or not just by spending couple of minutes. But, if there has been so many accounts, it could very well be true. As a saying goes - there's no smoke without fire. The society itself was quite an unassuming one with buildings stacked next to each other with small lanes connecting. There are lots of shops in the society. And since, the buildings are so close to each other, the sun light doesn't get in much, hence, its quite cooler to walk about in the premises in an otherwise hot sunny day. Plus, there are plenty of trees adding to the shaded space. And, I might just be back in this area for few more spook hunting sessions ;-)
