Photo Travelogue :
My love for forests is no secret. I love greenery and all that nature offers. I've been to quite a many forests treks in several states all over India, and was looking forward to exploring some in the vicinity of my native home as well. And I didn't have to go far, because, several lovely forests surround the city of Guwahati. If you've been reading my blog, you'll be aware of the ones that I've already covered and as my quest continues I go on exploring new ones. The forest in my radar this time was the Amchang Reserve Forest...which is a sprawling mass of greenery hosting many trees and plants and a host of wildlife species. Here's my entire trip through pics. Enjoy! :-)

traversing through Noonmati Sector 1 township road via Kharguli Hills...towards my destination of the day...

the hills start appearing on the side of the road to narengi - dense forests awaits within...and, I'm excited already...

reach Bonda, Birkuchi cross section, take right towards Amchang Reserve Forest...yep, thats where we're headed...

the green and red sign board will help you locate the direction...

reach a fork...both goes towards the forest...via different tracks...I go right first...for, I love exploring all possibilities...

reach an end, where on left we take the path that goes in...but, be careful..its a loose red-soil track...my scooty got stuck here :{

jungle beckons...and, I set on foot...as my scooty refuses to go the slippery path...

lush green heaven everywhere I turn...

I start venturing...love walking in deep jungles...with tall trees surrounding I'm in a different world...it becomes dense and dark with every step I take...

this track has a hidden water fall inside...I walk on till I hear the gushing sounds...

the track is not steep...only once you reach the waterfall it becomes steep with slippery rocks multi-level...

finally, I see it...Sotal Xil Waterfall, Bonda, its a three layered waterfall...

as evening approaches, one last look at the forest before I go on to the next track, but that's for another day...
