After I left Amer Fort, I got into an auto who agreed to take me to both Jaigarh and Nahargarh Forts at Rs.120/- I was like, wow! Good deal! Its on the same route and very doable within couple of minutes of each other. And both these forts are just behind Amer. So, make sure to do the trio when there. We go the same way that we had come ( when arriving from Jaipur ); but, midway, we take a right turn on a road, that goes up the hill. Its quite a steep climb at some places...
heading to Jaigarh Fort...
passing by a camel and a royal gate...
sign-boards pointing in that direction...
passing by some scenic views, there are 52 hair-pin turns uphill to the fort,
its a 10-12 minutes ride to Jaigarh from Amer Fort in the auto...
reach the massive pink fort and buy a ticket...
enter the main gate...
to the left are the museum and palace; we'll go right ~ to the big gun...
its a 5 minutes walk to the gun...
some stairs to climb as well...
to Jaivan.....some info about it ~ by ASI...
Jaigarh houses the world's largest cannon gun/tope...never used, though...
lets take a closer look ~ hi..baby...
pakis, don't mess with us...we have this!
tried touching it...
peeping through the windows at the top...
guards used to watch for enemies through these...
stunning views of the Aravalli range from the top...
Amer Fort and Maotha lake below, visible from the Jaigarh Fort...
time to return, spotted a Hanuman/Balaji temple ( in yellow ) on the left...
Jaigarh Fort is situated on the promontory called the Cheel ka Teela of the Aravalli range; it overlooks the Amer Fort and the Maota Lake, near Amer in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The fort was built by Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amer Fort and its palace complex and was named after him. ( wiki ).
