HOPPITIMES AT HOPIPOLA - MY REVIEW

Alert ~ A picture-heavy post ahead!!

It was on 7th Oct, I made my way to an exclusive BLOGGER'S MEET for some new cocktail tasting at Hoppipola ( a restro-bar ), along with few other bloggers. The place was a little difficult to locate at first, but managed somehow. Its at a walking distance from the station ( towards left and main road side, although, its not exactly on the main road ).

The Venue...

A warm, friendly and very spacious place, it looked just the perfect place to hang around with friends. It has two sections, with sitting area in both. The hosts and staff are quite friendly.

The Insides, Bar and the Crowd...

The crowd kept coming and going, the entire time; so, it seems a popular place with young adults. It has nice music playing all the time, and the whole place can be great to watch live-matches on their large screen. On the outside section, it has nice place for birds to fly about.

Introduction to the New Cocktails...Hoppi Specials & Jinni Martinis

Making of the First shot of the day...
We were there for some purpose; so, soon after everyone reached, without wasting any time, we were immediately introduced to the art of cocktail-making. Some blogger volunteers made the first drink, as per the expert's instructions; and we all got to taste it, first hand! Wow!

The Sampling of different Cocktails...( correct me if I got the names mixed up )

5. Porn Star Martini. Yeah, you heard it right :-D

6. Hoppi Bath Tub or was it the Drown in a Bucket? Nevermind, cos' sluurpy it was.

7. Da VinciTini, where we got to use the paint-brush

My verdict, after all these drinks? Well, after drinking one shot after the other in rapid succession, you tend to forget which drink tasted what :o And I must've surely missed or mixed up the names too. However, the drink with a salt ring ( 4 ) around it, and the one with chocolate ( 7 ) brushed in, certainly stayed in my mind for long. I noted, almost all the cocktail-drinks ( that included vodka -absolut/expresso, rum -white/lemon flavoured, tequila, orange liqueur, gin -gordon's, wine etc ), had some kinda fruit flavours in them ( that included watermelon, cranberry, peach, orange, kiwi, pomegranate, beetroot, pineapple, raspberry etc ), along with different herbs/spice/nuts ( like burn rosemary, basil, black pepper, coriander, hazelnut etc ) that made them so yum!!! Of course, each drink had their own unique combination. And did I get high after all that? Neah...I wanted some more \:D/ Kyunki Yeh Dil Mange More...

The Making of the Last Shot...
HOPPITIMES AT HOPIPOLLA

Again a bunch of blogger volunteers got making...shaking...and pronto, it was ready!
and guess what, it came in a...

A Karela ( bitter-gourd ) for a shot-glass.

The staff explained that, although, everyone thinks the karela might give out a bitter taste, it is not so. They do discard it, after a while especially when they see a particular stain-sign on the mouth of it. So, a disposable shot-glass it is, eh? Interesting ;-)

The Yummy Bites...
HOPPITIMES AT HOPIPOLLAHOPPITIMES AT HOPIPOLLAHOPPITIMES AT HOPIPOLLAHOPPITIMES AT HOPIPOLLA

In all these, we had some delicious bites, that accompanied the cocktails, keeping us company ( see the pics above ). It was a fun afternoon and I enjoyed the outing, and of course the various cocktails I got to taste too. Head over to Hoppipola to have similar hoppitimes like I had :-)

My Ratings :
Ambiance - 4Stars
Staff - 3Stars
Food/Drinks - 3Stars
Price - 3Stars
Will recommend!

THE NEW APPLE FLAVOUR TANG

APPLE FLAVOUR TANG

Just recently, I was invited to a popular restaurant chain for the exclusive launch of their new summer drinks. For the event, I had to go out in the Bombay's Scorching Sun to reach the venue. Of course, the launch was awesome, so were the drinks. But then again, I had to return home in the Bombay's blazing afternoon heat. Fatigued by all that travel, a thought crossed my mind ~ whats the use going in the heat, all the way, for those refreshers and then coming back all the way in the heat. What about when we reach home, exhausted and tired? We can't make those elaborate drinks everyday, in the restaurant way, so aren't there any other options we can bank on, besides the usual cokes/pepsis etc, that are way too harmful for our bodies & health anyways. It was then I received an email, asking if I'd like to review a summer drink, that can be made at home itself. Of course, yes! I responded. Anything to beat the summer heat.

APPLE FLAVOUR TANG
Adding to my happiness, the parcel arrived within a few days :-)

Tang has been a familiar name to me for quite long. I have bought it few times in the past. Of course, then I got the answer. I don't know why I was ignoring this drink this long, even when I did enjoy it in the past. Anyways, the parcel's arrival did re-ignite my relationship with Tang all over again, so to say. The parcel contained a sipper too, which had 4 packets of Tang Instant Drink Mix inside. Lemon, Orange and Mango, I was quite familiar with. But the Apple Flavour was a totally new experience for me. It is the brand's new addition to its other signature flavours. The best thing I noticed about the product is its price. While the Apple flavour is priced at Rs.35/- per 125gms, the rest 3 flavours are at Rs.30/- each. And all the four flavours can be bought together in a sipper at Rs.125/- Isn't that wonderful.

Prices apart, the drink has nutritional value too. It has a healthy dose of vitamins, irons and along with it's fresh fruity taste, it is not only easy to make but can be stored as well for later use. So, one need not keep making it every time one wants to drink. Make it. Store it. Drink it.

The bottle is of 1ltr capacity and as per the instruction given in the bottle I tried it myself. First, I filled water in the sipper to the 1lt mark. Then quickly, I emptied the 1ltr variant/125gms pack of Tango in it. Naturally, I chose the Apple flavour first, having already tasted the others. And after closing the cap tightly, I shook and swirled it. And that's it. Tang was ready to be served. I drank one glassful and kept the rest in the refrigerator. I tried little twists too, as in adding little chat-masala in the lemon flavoured Tang, as well as mixed little portions of each together and tried to see what it tasted like. I think the sipper option is really great as it is completely no hassle. Even kids can make drinks out of it. So easy and so much fun. So, this summer 'Tang' came to my rescue and I'm sticking to it. What about you?
