Recently, I attended the exclusive launch of Sahiba Limited's newest collection ( on 24th April'15 ). Here's a glimpse of the event :-)
This was a tricky one, because I had to search quite a while before finding the exact location. '69' does give a naughty feeling too, doesn't it.. what say? Do read a detailed review of the place in my next post.
Staying in the eastern far-away suburbs, I always start a little early for any event, thinking I'll be the last one to arrive. On the contrary, I seem to arrive the earliest these days...err this time I was 2nd in attendance. Naturally, I got to see the behind-the-scenes best, because the organizers were still preparing when I arrived. While one man was ironing all the clothes one by one, there was a flurry of activity with everyone trotting about, getting things in order. Sound check, video check... The waiters started bringing one starter after the other, along with the drinks. The two hostesses apologized for being delayed, however, I was enjoying it all. I chatted with the first attendee, a stylist, who previously had worked with the brand. I got some interesting information from her, that the brand was mainly into wholesale, who recently got into retail as well and more recently ecommerce. Their collections can be found in stores like Shopper's Stop etc. They also launched new collections frequently and has been around for over three decades.
I browsed through some of the catalogs. These are of the current collection, the ones prepared for this particular event. It was nice to see them in print too.
So, the event ultimately started, after almost 1 and half hours of scheduled time. By then, the venue was packed too, with a pretty stylish crowd. The names we had scribbled earlier on a piece of paper, was passed around in a bowl for a 3-phase lucky draw - winners of which would win some of the dresses on display. The male host took over and spoke about the event, their association with Jacqueline Fernandez and also introduced the audience to the CEO of Sahiba, Mr.Sabby Saluja. The winners were picked between gaps of socializing and were awarded by the CEO. That done, everyone was invited for a closer look at the collection of course after raising a toast, ensuring everyone had a glass! Cool music played in the background throughout.

The lovely guests posed with the clothes and it was fun to observe them. The event ended with everyone sent off with a goodie bag that had some yummilicious cheese cakes in them and also a writing pad. I left the venue after bidding bye to hostess Mandira, with an IndiaTimes scribe who introduced me to the Metro ( which was soon to be my very first metro ride ).
