BHANGARH FORT, ALWAR RAJASTHAN - MY EXPERIENCE!

Photo Travelogue :
Read first part - Here!

So, I was there at last. It was 11 am almost, when I reached Bhangarh Fort. Had left Sindhi Camp at 7.45 am in the morning. Oh..Whatta day its been so far... It was the month of October, so, it was blazing hot. I'm told, monsoon is the best time to come here, when streams start flowing down the hills behind, and its all green around. Anyhow, both my trips were in October'15 itself. I was simply exhausted. Carrying my backpack all the way, the entire day, was having a toll on my back. But, nonetheless, my enthusiasm was at its peak. Its so surreal, when something you've heard so much about, or seen so much on TV, is finally right before your eyes. I was absorbing it all in. Taking you through the journey via pictures. Enjoy :-)

did I find any ghosts in Bhangarh? No! But, I found plenty of these...

Since, on this visit, I had other plans ~ to cover rest of Jaipur etc, and being ahead of time ( being super-cautious not to waste any ), I decided to leave the fort by 12pm. I decided, I'd come another time and devote more time only to Bhangarh. So, this time, after about 1+ hour tour around the complex, I decided to leave. There were other tourists, so, one one doesn't really get scared in day-time. Few times I found myself alone in certain areas; then, then it did feel spooky. All in all, I think to get the best spook, would be to come after sun set - which isn't allowed, btw. The fort lies at the base of the Sasrika Tiger Reserve, which could also explain the disappearances of people there; so, not necessarily ghosts were the culprits, methinks. Whatever the case may be, it was surely a place that deserved and second visit! And...I was back soon, within that month itself!

"raat ko yaha hota hai, ghungroo ki awwaze, tabhi toh shaam ke baad yaha rukna mana hai; yaha raat ko rukne ka sadhan bhi toh nahi hai; raat ko junglee jaanwar ka khatra bhi hai isliye rukne nahi dete" ~ this words from some of locals prompted me to make my 2nd visit to the fort soon...

small video of my 2nd trip to Bhangarh, pardon my voice :-)

GOLA KA BUS VILLAGE TO BHANGARH FORT, RAJASTHAN

As you can see, my journey had lots of breaks-ups throughout - jerk journey, kinda. Its because, I had to change vehicles thrice to reach Bhangarh fort. It was a long trip, and very time consuming; so, I was mindful, not to waste any. I was to return that day itself, because, Bhangarh was not a place I'd want to stay over night; neither, was its nearest village Gola Ka Bus; which was too rustic and didn't have proper accommodation ~ it just didn't look appealing at all. So, lot of ground to cover in so little time. And, I was nearing my destination.

DAUSA TO BHANGARH BY ROAD VIA GOLA KA BUS VILLAGE, ALWAR

Photo Travelogue :

The bus to Gola ka Bus village had just left when I arrived in Dausa, and I was told at the enquiry to wait for few more minutes till the next bus came. Seeing the surroundings, the state of the buses and its passengers, I was not very optimistic. But, a bus did come ( to my relief ) after few minutes wait, and I nearly jumped for joy. For 50 bucks, it was taking me to my destination, which would be a 1 hour ride. I was really pressed for time, and could not waste a single moment. I got up and took the front seat....I think, I jumped into the bus, lol. The enthralling trip continues...

JAIPUR TO BHANGARH BY ROAD VIA DAUSA

Photo Travelogue :
Read first part - Here!

Both my visits to Rajasthan had a prime motive - to go to Bhangarh Fort. I had heard so much about the place ( seen on TV too ), that I simply had to go there and experience it for myself. That, it was rumoured to be the most haunted place in the country; as well as perhaps, the world too, it was like ~ this is it...Bhangarh nahi gaya to kya gaya! I have to be there, period. I reached Jaipur station and headed straight for Bhangarh...carrying my bags and all. I didn't want to lose any time...because, it would be a 2+ hour journey; first 1 hour to Dausa, then another 1+ hour to Gola Ka Bus which was the bus stop for Bhangarh. ( There is another way to reach Bhangarh, from Delhi via Alwar, crossing the Aravalli hills ). It could takes few more minutes here and there. I had a plan to take the last returning bus, which would leave at 5pm...so, everything had to be done within that time frame. I didn't want to miss that last bus, lol. Getting down from the station, I took a rickshaw to Sindhi Camp Bus Stop which was 2 km away from the station.

Reaching Dausa was only one part of the journey. I had to catch another bus to Bhangarh, for which I had to wait as the bus would come very 30 minutes only. Thankfully, after few minutes wait, a bus did come; else, I was scared, my plans would go haywire!
